Beaufort Primary School delivers the National Curriculum in an exciting and progressive way by catering to the student’s developmental needs. Teachers use the student’s natural curiosity and imagination to guide their learning.
In the early years, play is a fundamentally vital aspect to the development of a student’s social, emotional and academic learning. Our investigation sessions provide time for the students to play and interact with other students in ways that are sometimes familiar, and sometimes not. These sessions of play then lead into the students writing, can guide choices of text to read and influence other learning areas.
As the students move up through the school, investigations become more targeted towards specific questions. We use The Inquiry Process to find what questions the students have about a topic and then investigate ways to answer those questions. Recent topics have included explorers, healthy bodies, living things, and recycling.
